Job type: Full-time
Compensation: Base pay of $50,000–$60,000 per year plus tiered commission on store sales and company benefits.
About the role
This is a working manager role. You’ll lead the Naperville location and provide services on the floor as a licensed nail technician and/or esthetician — a practitioner and a leader at the same time. You’ll report to our Spa Director and be the first of the next generation of Lena Rose location leaders. Beyond running a tight ship, you’ll actively bring new business through the door: building local partnerships, working events, and turning new faces into loyal customers.
What you’ll own – Lead the team
- Manage the Naperville team — their day-to-day, growth, and accountability.
- Help hire and onboard new team members as the location grows.
- Build smart, profitable schedules and cover call-outs gracefully.
- Coach your team, run check-ins and 30-day reviews, and handle difficult conversations when performance needs correcting.
- Uphold the handbook, code of conduct, and policies consistently and fairly.
Run the location
- Own daily operations — opening/closing, sanitation standards (Barbicide, station and equipment protocols), and an immaculate, welcoming space.
- Manage inventory and reordering across retail, backbar, and supplies.
- Oversee the front desk and client flow on Booker — scheduling, check-ins/outs, cash handling, and follow-up.
- Keep the location compliant with Illinois licensing, health, and safety standards.
- Be the steady senior leader on-site and the one who makes the call when something needs deciding.
Own the numbers
- Know your daily and weekly sales, retail performance, and where new growth is coming from.
- Keep an eye on labor, inventory spend, and everyday costs.
- Hit and grow the location’s sales targets — the same targets your commission is built on.
Deliver services on the floor
- Provide hands-on services as a licensed nail technician and/or esthetician, leading by example.
- Uphold the highest standards of hospitality — anticipate needs, use names, make every client feel genuinely cared for.
Grow the business (what makes this role different)
- Build local partnerships and relationships that send new clients our way.
- Represent Lena Rose at networking events and in the Naperville community — you are the face of the brand locally.
- Concept and run community and corporate events with our marketing team, then work them yourself.
- Grow membership in our Opal and Jade membership tiers and build the Naperville client book from the ground up.
Who you are — non-negotiables
These are the must-haves. If you don’t meet all of these, this likely isn’t the right fit:
- Proven management experience — you’ve led a team, owned a schedule, corrected performance, and handled hard conversations.
- A current Illinois license — Nail Technician or Esthetician.
- Willing to attend nail school (company-paid) if you’re not already a licensed nail technician.
- A master scheduler — organized, proactive, always three steps ahead.
- Detail-oriented and dependable — you sweat the small stuff and get the job done every time.
- A policy-upholder who enforces the handbook fairly, even when it’s uncomfortable.
- Reliable transportation — you have a car. You’ll train at our Chicago location under the Spa Director for a couple of weeks and travel locally for events to learn the brand and role.
- A true believer in the Lena Rose vision who understands the company comes first.
