BUFFALO GROVE, IL (June 2018) — Solaia Luxury Salon and Spas in Naperville, Illinois, has been named a “Salon of Distinction” in the nationally acclaimed “Salons of the Year” interior design competition sponsored by SALON TODAY, the leading business publication for the professional salon industry.
The salon, owned by Amanda Toppel, distinguished itself among qualified entries, and was featured in the May/June 2018 issue of SALON TODAY magazine.
“This year, the competition was tough, as salon after salon created gorgeous spaces where clients could enjoy beauty experiences while team members could do their best work,” says Stacey Soble, editor in chief of SALON TODAY.
Salons competing in the annual “Salons of the Year” competition were either newly constructed or remodeled salons that opened between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2017. A grand-prize winner and three runners-up were chosen, and 16 additional salons were named “Salons of Distinction” and featured in the June issue.
Salons were judged in six design categories: Use of Color, Lighting, Flooring, Efficient Use of Space, Consistency of Design and Overall Aesthetics. All entries were evaluated in a multi-step process by the editors and art directors of SALON TODAY and MODERN SALON. Statistics and images of all 20 winning salons are posted on www.salontoday.com/SOTY.
SALON TODAY magazine, published by Torrance, California-based Bobit Business Media, is the leading business publication written for salon owners and managers. It is a sister publication to MODERN SALON magazine.
